Report: Haley to run Steelers offense

The Steelers will hire former Kansas City Chiefs coach Todd Haley to be their offensive coordinator, according to an ESPN report. The move, first reported by 610 AM in Kansas City, has not yet been announced. Haley will replace Bruce Arians, now with the Indianapolis Colts. The 45-year-old Haley, fired by Kansas City on Dec.
NBC, NFL sorry for M.I.A.'s lewd gesture

Less than a second stood between British singer M.I.A. giving the finger to 114 million people watching the Super Bowl halftime show and no one noticing at all. That's how close NBC censors came to preventing the gesture from being seen Sunday night, but the Super Bowl instead wound up with another entertainment oops moment.

The Patriots say there's no finger-pointing after their Super Bowl loss, even if supermodel Gisele Bundchen won't abide by that code. The wife of New England quarterback Tom Brady was caught on camera complaining that dropped passes doomed the team to a 21-17 loss to the New York Giants on Sunday -- the Patriots' second loss in the NFL title game loss in five seasons.

Smiles were the order of the day, as the Super Bowl-champion New York Giants returned home, victorious once again. The team's charter plane from Indianapolis touched down around 1:55 p.m. Monday at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey. Several players saluted the crowd as they departed the aircraft, and some used cameras and video recorders to capture the moment and the scene.

New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick has confirmed that Josh McDaniels will be the team's offensive coordinator next season. McDaniels was brought in during the playoffs to serve as an "offensive assistant." He was widely seen as the heir to offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien, who had been hired to replace Joe Paterno at Penn State.

The Kansas City Chiefs hired Brian Daboll as the team's new offensive coordinator Monday, bringing in a familiar face for new head coach Romeo Crennel. Daboll spent last season in the same job for the Miami Dolphins, and the previous two years serving as Cleveland's offensive coordinator. He worked with Crennel when both were with the Patriots.
Raiders tab Stanford's Tarver to run 'D'

The Oakland Raiders didn't look far to find a defensive coordinator. The Raiders on Monday hired Stanford's Jason Tarver, who helped shape one of the Pac-12's top defenses while serving as co-defensive coordinator and overseeing the linebackers under rookie head coach David Shaw last season.
